MrDarkKnight,
Hmmm ... noting that you are a former Bethelite I've added you to the list. You bring our list up to a round 80.

when my friends and family try to "reason" with me about my decision to leave, i immediatley begin to question the interpretation of the so-called prophecy in the bible, i am getting the following consistent response:.
"it does not matter if the end comes in my lifetime.
i know i am doing god's will.".

hi guys, i saw this thread: http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/209643/1/de-conversion-where-are-you.
i've experienced them all and now i'm at 7).
when i was at a 6) i didn't care and figured my dad would be happier believing in something false anyway, but i asked him if he would rather know the truth about something or not even if it will cost you saddness and he said he would rather the truth.
You may want to explore this 11 minute read, THE GREAT WATCHTOWER CONTRADICTION. While it's designed for potential Watchtower converts, it poses a simple question at the outset that can be very disturbing to even the seasoned JW.

ohiocowboy has just posted this information on the two other threads dealing with the sudden collapse of the unthank cases.. i don't know steven unthank, but i just want to thank him from the bottom of my heart for having the courage against overwhelming odds to try and bring the watch tower society to justice over their deplorable neglect when it comes to protecting children from abuse and molestation.. steven is a man of justice and integrity who i deeply admire.
his actions will never be forgotten, and i only hope he can find it within himself to continue his work in whatever avenue may become available in the future.. they have won this battle, but they can never win the war.. .

Hi Johnny2feet,
If you know the proper use of ellipses I suggest you pass it along to the Watchtower writers. It's on record here where they quoted Nature (the periodical) back from the 90s. The first part of the quote was from one issue -- and following the ellipsis from an issue 5 issues (months) later.

few today realize that the peanut butter cup people were close to failure that is, until they changed its name.
now you know the rest of the story.

Here's another one -- we, at JWN, are all mentally diseased -- if you believe you-know-who.
just a few things i couldn't wrap my head around:.
why did lucy keep pulling the ball away from charlie brown?
was she jealous of his relationship with the little red-haired girl, and sought to embarrass him, because she secretly lusted after him?
Thanks, Shopper.

Lucy really wanted Schroeder. He was out of her reach with his 'stupid' piano. He was more exciting and she couldn't have him.
But -- as one of those holier-than-thou pioneers -- she was able to use him.
the one thing that got to me was that this religion is illogical.
their "logic" is ridiculous, especially when it comes to their blood doctrine.
downright weird!.
They're full of contradictions, which they say they hate -- and which this 11 minute read highlights as the worst of them all: THE GREAT WATCHTOWER CONTRADICTION.

well, if you click the "theme" of each talk, you can listen to the talk by mp3.. in particular, with respect to the mp3s of the dcs in 2010 and 2011, you can listen to most of them.. .

Thanks for those, Possible.
Baptisms are at a dead crawl compared to the old days. How things have changed.
Well, then, they need to increase their birth rate and get members the old fashioned way. Then baptize 'em at 6 (there are no less than 2 yearbook experiences that recount such early ones), then refuse admittance* to any less than 12 years old even when accompanying their parents.

Amen to that, Kurt. Failing human memory and denial are some of the biggest enemies to truth. Iran and others are doing their best to discount the Holocaust. "It never happened". Modern JWs, many of them from ignorance since they came in later, are doing exactly the same. "1975 is just an apostate thing". The old-timers, of course, do nothing to remind them (and themselves) of that horrible period of empty claims. If it weren't for the internet and the Watchtower Library CD, Watchtower would do their darndest to squelch it. Len
